Beth's Causes
Inner Circle of Political Journalists
Each year, since 2001, Beth participates in a charity event performed by New York City journalists. Their group, The Inner Circle, raises money for numerous charities. Beth’s share of the money raised has gone to Covenant House New York, a shelter for homeless teens in New York City and the National MPS Society, Inc. (see below). For more information about The Inner Circle, a New York institution since 1922, see The Inner Circle website. Beth was the organization’s President for the 2014 show.
National MPS Society, Inc.
In memory of her brothers, Joe and Jon, Beth supports the National MPS Society, Inc., a foundation that raises research money and offers support to individuals afflicted by rare genetic diseases like the one that affected her late brothers.
For more information, visit the MPS Society website. See also Beth’s 2009 story published on Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s CNN.com blog on International MPS Awareness Day, May 15.
